My name is Lemuel B. Thomas Jr., founder of Whitby Move Cleaners. For over 20 years, I’ve been passionate about helping people live healthier, more active lives. My journey began with a B.S. in Exercise Science, working as a fitness trainer, including 3 years at GoodLife Fitness, and later running my own fitness business, LT Fit. These experiences taught me how to motivate people, manage teams, and run client-focused services — skills that I now bring into my cleaning business.
I’ve lived in Ontario for over 15 years, mainly in Ajax, Pickering, and now North Whitby (Rolling Acres). Living a healthy lifestyle has always been a priority for me, which is why Whitby Move Cleaners focuses on eco-friendly cleaning — providing spotless homes without harsh chemicals that could compromise health or the environment.
Why I Chose Eco-Friendly Cleaning
Eco-friendly cleaning allows me to combine my passion for health with my love of helping others. Using sustainable, environmentally conscious products ensures that families in Whitby and across the Durham Region can enjoy clean homes without exposure to harmful chemicals.
Cleaning also keeps me active. Unlike sitting behind a desk, I’m moving, engaging, and physically involved in every job — which fits perfectly with my background in fitness and wellness.

Before founding Whitby Move Cleaners, I gained extensive professional cleaning experience as a HomeStars and Jiffy contractor, providing residential cleaning services across Durham Region. These roles gave me a hands-on understanding of what it takes to meet client expectations, maintain high standards, and deliver consistent results.
Combining Skills: Leadership, Project Management, and Client Care
Running a business isn’t just about doing the work — it’s about managing projects, schedules, and teams effectively. I’ve completed project management courses and earned a postgraduate certificate in Management and Leadership and Business Administration from Liberty University. This education, combined with years of running client-focused businesses like LT Fit, ensures that every cleaning project is efficient, organized, and delivered with professionalism.
Whether I’m cleaning personally or supervising my team, these skills help me provide a seamless experience for every client.
One of the things I love most about this work is meeting new people. I’m naturally outgoing and enjoy connecting with families in Whitby and throughout Durham Region. Cleaning is about more than spotless homes — it’s about building trust, giving peace of mind, and helping families feel comfortable and cared for.
In addition to running Whitby Move Cleaners, I also work at Karis Disability Services as a Direct Support Worker and Health & Safety Representative, further emphasizing my commitment to service and community.
